2. He was roommates with the actor Geoffrey Rush in college. You may have seen him in the movies Intolerable Cruelty (2003) and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003).
3. Mel was offered the role of Eliot Ness in The Untouchables (1987), but turned it down. Kevin Costner stepped in and the movie was a huge success.
