John Francis Bongiovi, or Jon Bon Jovi as we know him, was born March 2nd 1962 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Jon wanted to be a rock star from an early age. His early career was greatly helped by his cousin, Tony Bongiovi, who was record producer at the Power Station recording studio.
Tony gave Jon a job as a janitor at the studio, and allowed the ambitious young singer to use the studio to record and practice his own material.
One of the songs Jon recorded, a track called Runaway, became a hit on local New Jersey radio, so Jon began looking for musicians to form a band. Bon Jovi were formed and one hundred million albums later, they're still going strong today.
After achieving everything he set out to in music, Jon turned his attention to films. He made his acting debut in the movie Moonlight and Valentino (1995). Since then, he has appeared in the films The Leading Man (1996), U-571 (2000) and Pay It Forward (2000). Jon has also made several appearances in the popular television series Ally McBeal (2002) and Sex and the City (1999).
