Ben Shephard was bon in Essex, England on December 11th 1974. He studied Dance, Drama and Theatre Arts at Birmingham University, achieving a 2:1 BA Honours degree. After working for various production companies, Ben got his first big break in 1998 when he was selected to host the Channel 4 teen programme Control Freaks. His talent was recognized immediately, and he was soon promoted to higher profile shows such as T4 and The Bigger Breakfast.
Since then, Ben has worked predominantly for ITV, presenting shows such as GMTV, The Xtra Factor and Entertainment Today.
Ben currently lives in South West London with his wife Annie and baby Samuel who was born on the 28th May 2005.
