Ben Fogle

Ben Fogle was born in 1973 to the actress Julia Foster and celebrity vet Bruce Fogle. He attended Bryanston School in Dorset, before reading Latin American Studies at the University of Portsmouth.

Ben first came to public attention in the year 2000 by taking part in the BBC reality show Castaway. Ben and thirty-five other brave souls lived on the remote island Taransay for twelve months.

Upon his return from isolation, Ben found himself to be somewhat of a celebrity. After several chat show appearances, he was soon offered the job of presenting the Sunday morning show Countryfile alongside John Craven. Since then, he has also presented shows such as Animal Park (2002) and the Crufts Dog Show (2006).

In 2006 Ben and Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell won the pairs division of the Atlantic Rowing Race, which involved racing 3000 miles across the Atlantic in a 24ft rowing boat.
