James McAvoy

James McAvoy was born on January 1st 1979 in Glasgow, Scotland. He studied at the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and made his screen debut aged just sixteen in the film The Near Room (1995).

After a few years developing his craft, James returned to the fore with his critically acclaimed performances in the BBC-1 political thriller State of Play (2003) and the first series of Early Doors (2003).

In 2003 he starred in the Stephen Fry film Bright Young Things before appearing opposite Kirsten Dunst, Paul Bettany and Sam Neill in the romantic comedy Wimbledon (2004).

In 2004 James played a muscular-dystrophy victim in the wonderful comedy Inside I'm Dancing, as well as appearing in several episodes of the C4 series Shameless.

1n 2005 James starred as Mr. Tumnus, the Faun in the movie adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
