Andre Agassi

Andre Kirk Agassi was born on April 29th 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada. His Armenian-born father, Emmanuel Agassi, was a boxer for Iran in the 1948 and 1952 Olympics before emigrating to the U.S. Emmanuel was an avid tennis fan and introduced his son to the game at a young age. Andre took to tennis like a duck to water, and it was soon clear just how good he could become.

At age fourteen, Andre was sent to the famous Nick Bollettieri's Tennis Academy in Florida. Just four years later, after only 43 tournaments, Andre had earned over $1 million in career prize money.

Andre's first major championship victory came in 1992 at Wimbledon, and since then he has added seven more Grand Slam trophies to his collection. He is one of only five male players to have won four Grand Slam tournaments, along with Don Budge, Roy Emerson, Rod Laver and Fred Perry.

After a failed two year marriage to actress Brooke Shields, Andre became involved with fellow tennis legend Steffi Graf in 1999. Two years later they were married at his Las Vegas home on October 22nd 2001. The couple's first child, Jaden Gil, was born 6 weeks prematurely on October 26th of that same year, and their beautiful daughter, Jaz Elle, followed on October 3rd 2003.
