Ewan McGregor

1. He is married to production designer Eve Mavrakis who he met on the set of the television series Kavanagh QC in 1995.
2. His uncle is the Scottish actor Denis Lawson who appeared in movies such as Local Hero (1983) as well as the television series Holby City.
3. Ewan was the original choice for the lead role in The Beach (2000) but the studio wanted a bigger name and the part ultimately went to Leonardo DiCaprio instead. However, Ewan had the last laugh when the film failed at the box office.
