He started diving
at the age of seven and is a member Plymouth Diving Club. He had won several
medals and brought honor to his country at a very young age. He has made an
impact in national and international competitions, through which he specializes
in 10 metre platform event and holds the title as the 2009 FINA World Champion
in the individual event at the age of 15. His early diving heroes were Canadian
Diver Alexander Despatie and British diver Leon Taylor who eventually mentored
him.
His success made him
a public icon and paved open into the entertainment world.
Daley now lives
in Plymouth in a home purchased, early 2013. His house is just near to his
mother and two brothers. He is a good friend with American diver Kassidy Cook
in which they were rumored to be in a relationship. However, Daley denied that
issue.
